Timber Selection Timber selection is a crucial part of making a great instrument. Timber selection falls into two main categories. Tone selection and asthetic qualities. I select with these two things in mind. My first goal is to produce the best sounding guitars I can, then that they look as good as they can. |

Hole Reamer This is a bridge-pin hole reamer. It is used to make the hole the same taper as the bridge pin for a perfect fit. |

Bridge Slot This slot is to insure that the ball ends of the strings are firmly in contact with the bridge plate. This helps to avoid bridge plate problems. This is the traditional way of installing bridge pins which do not have a flute. |

Machines Machines can come loose and cause buzzing. Why does this happen? Wood and metal expands and contracts at different rates and this causes the nut and washer to loosen. If you attempt to tighten the machines yourself, be careful not to over tighten them which can cause the wood around the hole to dent or worse, break the thread. |

Cam Clamps Cam clamps are used as an alternative to the go-bar deck. They are useful as the deep throat is good for clamping on bridges. They are also used for clamping tops and back braces. Cam clamps are easy to make at home. |
