A) NARROW FRET WIRE
Narrow fret wire was used on pre-WWII acoustic guitars, and is now used on modern Banjos, Mandolins and Dulcimers.
B) MEDIUM FRET WIRE
Medium fret wire is used extensively by Martin, Fender and Gibson, and is the most popular width Fret Wire.

C) OVERSIZE FRET WIRE
The advantage of over size fret wire (traditionally only on Jumbo guitars) is it increases the length of time before you need a re-fret. A fret level and crown will do the trick saving you money.
