Danny Burton was the 2006 runner up in the Melbourne Blues Appreciation Society
'Blues player of the year competition' with the winner being Nick Charles. Danny
released his 1st album 'Take A Step Back' at the end of 2005 which is available at
musicplug.net and select leading Edge stores. The album includes 3 other great musicians
being Les Oldman on drums, Paul Gadsby on Bass guitar and Chris 'darkie' Wilson on keyboards.
Chris also engineered and produced the album. Danny is currently performing as a solo act
building a strong presence in the roots and blues scene. He has been sharing festival bills
with the likes of Chris Wilson, Ash Grunwald, Mia Dyson, Collards Greens and Gravy and Shane
Howard to name a few. Danny blends acoustic guitar, lapsteel, stompbox and a strong vocal to
produce a strong solo sound.
Several tracks off 'Take A Step Back' also received votes at the
2006 Vic/Tas blues awards held in Melbourne. The 1st track,'Run Home To Mumma' is to be
featured on the current Bar Promotions compilation C.D. which will be promoted
internationally to over 350 radio stations spanning from the U.S.A. to France.
Danny performs his original songs at shows as well as some favourite blues and roots
covers and his voice has been described as being similar to Geoff Achison
