Ellis Guitars can offer the tonal timber known as "Sitka Spruce" on all their Series guitars. Mastergrade Sitka Spruce, AAA grade Sitka Spruce and AAAA grade Sitka Spruce is available. Sitka Spruce comes from Western North America and is pinkish white to light brown and silky in colour. The grain is straight and even. Suits steel string soundboards used for flatpicking and the occasional fingerpicking. Sitka Spruce has good balance, clarity and resonation. It is the most common soundboard timber for steel string guitars.
