TONAL: German Spruce / European Spruce has bright trebles, favourite for bowed instruments

Ellis Guitars can offer the tonal timber known as "German Spruce" or "European Spruce" on their Premium Series Guitars and Elite Series guitars. Mastergrade German Spruce, AAA grade German Spruce and AAAA grade German Spruce is available. German Spruce / European Spruce comes from the former Yugoslavia region and has golden tones. The grain can be straight and sometimes has isolated Bearclaw figure. Used for classical playing and fingerpicking on steel string guitars. German (European) Spruce has bright trebles and is a favourite for bowed instruments.
