Ellis Guitars can offer the tonal timber known as "Adirondack Spruce" or "Red Spruce" on all their Series guitars. Mastergrade Adirondack Spruce / Red Spruce, AAA grade Adirondack Spruce / Red Spruce and AAAA grade Adirondack Spruce / Red Spruce is available. Adirondack Spruce / Red Spruce comes from the extreme North Eastern parts of North America, confined to the Acadian Forest, found primarily in the provinces of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Price Edward Island. It is creamy white with a little silking in colour. The grain is irregular and very wide. Suits steel string soundboards used for flatpicking and vintage sounds. Adirondack Spruce / Red Spruce is strong and clear with qualities of both Sitka Spruce and Engelmann Spruce.
